Flavor Profile

Final Thoughts

This water of life does more than quench your thirst for great Whisky.  The Caol Ila 12 year packs a great collection of notes which reminds me of a grillout on the coast.

The fresh ocean air skims off the incoming tide bringing with it the smell of sea weed and shore moss.  This coastal theme, combined with the sweet & sour tang of BBQ ribs and deviled eggs seems to stem off hunger as you work your way to the bottom of the glass.  The body, in spite of the rich nose is amazingly light.  The palate and finish nicely compliment each other and make for a well rounded experience which lingers with peat reek and burnt Oak barrels.

Grade: B+ (89)
