Flavor Profile

Final Thoughts

Lagavulin is widely thought of as one of the leading Islay distilleries, and for good reason.  They have a strong history of turning out flavorful and well rounded malts.  This particular vatting is finished in Pedro Ximenez (PX) sherry casks which impart extremely sweet notes of raisins and molasses.  Balancing out the sweet are the traditional smells of Islay; peat, smoke, and seaweed.  The finish is long and balanced.  A fantastic malt for a reasonable price.
